Day One

by Cate on October 7, 2006

We are finally on our way. We don’t reach our first destination until Monday, but our 9-day adventure at sea has finally begun. Nicholas and The Girlfriend were beyond excited about the start of our vacation, and luckily they crashed early … as I write this, it’s 9:30 at night and out of the six of us, I’m the only one still awake. Hopefully everyone will sleep late tomorrow.

This afternoon, we didn’t get much of a chance to relax yet, as everyone was getting settled in and signing up for this and that. The Neighbor Wife and I already have our eye on some spa treatments while we’re here, and I’m ready for that. We also met the guys who will be catering to our every whim… a great crew this time, with Winston, Peterson and Franky taking care of us.

Dinner tonight kicked us off with a bang. I went with the Rustic Tomato Soup to start and then the Herb-Crusted Cod as an entree delish.

The seas are very rocky tonight, and since going to sleep to avoid it will help, I’m going to do just that. Remember, this weekend, Stephanie at Dispensing Happiness is hosting Weekend Dog Blogging. Sunday, we’ll be doing the first chapter of Where in the World is Sweetnicks, with an opportunity to win a hard-to-get Donna Hay book.

Until then…
