So sorry for the MIA moment last night, but I had a camera card that was being tempermental. To avoid getting too far behind, doing my photo round-up tonight, and my Eat. Live. Be. post (topic: finding motivation) tomorrow. Wednesday will be Nick’s day, and Thursday will be a whole wheat pita pizza recipe that is perfect for light and healthy lunch. Let’s get to it.

We have one tree on our property that is climbable. Leave it to Nick to find it.
After the rain last week, there was flooding everywhere. This is the hospital parking lot.

Night on the town Saturday night. Saw Take Me Home Tonight. Funny movie, awesome 80s soundtrack. Parmesan Bacon Popcorn and Oreo Mudslide even better.

These last two pictures, in addition to the first one at the top of Nick, and the ponytailed picture of Madeline, are my favorites from the weekend. On Friday, our basement had about three inches of water, from corner to corner. I closed the door and decided to wish it away. Come Sunday afternoon, it was up to about 8-9 inches of water, and it was clear it wasn’t going to go away on its own. Thank goodness for knowing people on the fire department (and having an ex-husband that was a volunteer with them). On Friday, I didn’t want to trouble them, because it was reasonably manageable and there were people far worse off (friends were actually being evacuated). By Sunday, the situation had changed for the worse. Within 15 minutes, the fire trucks were here working on pumping out the basement. They were here for a little over an hour, which is about the same amount of time the kids spent climbing all over the fire truck, playing with the buttons, getting sprayed with the dirty water coming out of the basement (um, ick) and having a blast.

I wish I were still small enough to ride on a supermarket wagon. Those were the days.
SO sorry about the flood! At least you knew the right people to get it fixed!
Thank goodness for the fire department! There has been lots of flooding here too, and they have bailed out (literally) a number of people in our town too.
Sorry to hear about your basement…..
We’ve had our share of rain here too! Glad we don’t have a basement.
