Atlanta: Photos in Review

Atlanta - Prayer Beads
On the way to the airport for my recent trip to Atlanta, I admired the driver’s prayer beads and asked if I could take a picture of them. He obliged. When we arrived at the airport, he gave them to me. Such a sweet gesture, but being a horrible flyer, I, of course, wondered if he knew something I didn’t.  Thankfully he didn’t.

Atlanta - Relaxation
My sister mentioned ages ago that she reads trashy magazines on her flights. With three flights over the last three months, I have since adopted the practice. And got completely caught up on all my gossip.

The driver had no idea what this monument was for. Anyone?

The way our schedule was set up, there was no real time to see Atlanta. Luckily since I met Chris from Melecotte Sunday evening, before the conference started, I was able to see a little bit of the downtown.
Atlanta - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This church is perhaps best known because Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached from the pulpit.

Chris mentioned that this underpass (below) is a popular scene for many video and movie shoots.

The Problem with New Jersey
When I saw the vast differences, I couldn’t help but put these two pictures side by side. That’s Atlanta on the left. With all the green. New Jersey on the right.

What? You don’t sleep with stuffed animals covering your face? And yes, I checked to make sure she was breathing.

Your post made me homesick. My son and my grandchildren live in Atlanta and I haven’t seen them for a while.

Now I’ll cook something decadently American to feel better. (As if I needed an excuse)

Great photos!

It’s a monument to education built from remnants of a library that was torn down: http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM7R1T_Carnegie_Education_Pavilion_Atlanta_GA

Glad you enjoyed our fair city! Come back when it’s not so hot (say, February…). :)

Great shots! I definitely read gossip magazines on flights, too. I consider that “me time.”
