People, I need to go back to work tomorrow so I can relax. This weekend was a whirlwind, full of family, fun, friends, and the great outdoors. Three-and-a-hour hour movie marathon with Mystic’s oldest on Friday night. Soccer season kick-offs for both Madeline and Nick on Saturday, and Zumba for me. This morning started off with a 5K, punctuated by a spontaneous trip to NYC for an exhibit (more details later this week), and dinner with all seven of us tonight. I am about six and a half minutes away from my pillow and I am counting down…
This was a side dish last week. I had high hopes for this one, a quiche with a brown rice crust. Turned out to be nothing special.
Now THIS on the other hand was awesome. Stupid simple. Sauteed mushrooms and onions over wheat toast with sliced avocado, sunny side up eggs, and a drizzle of hot sauce with salt and pepper. So.very.good. And clean eating. Love it.
The kids and I got home late on Thursday night, and Nick made the mad dash upstairs so we could grab the camera and capture the amazing sky.
New Friday tradition (only day I don’t brown bag lunch). Green Tea from Panera. My mom got me hooked on it. Extra ice, please.
Nick is a reader obsessed, and that makes me a proud Mom. Diving into the Hunger Games books and loving them.
Maddie’s soccer practice was first, and she rocked it. Never had a doubt.
Then Nick’s practice was a little bit later. She sat on the sidelines and cheered “Go Nick, go Nick!” Best little sister ever. She had the coach laughing that Nick had his own personal cheerleader.
Being turned upside down by Mystic.
She has, unfortunately, discovered that she likes iced coffee. Apparently it doesn’t matter if it’s mine (caramel flavored with milk and sugar), or Mystic’s (black). So now we guard them carefully.
New recipe. Coming to you on Wednesday.
A two-for-one special. My friend (and me!).

Fun weekend! I was under that bridge Friday nite on the 5th grade Spirit Cruise
I remember! I *love* that bridge. Gorgeousness!
If you’re a fan of Arnold Palmers, try the Panera green tea mixed with their lemonade.
Never had an Arnold Palmer, but will definitely give it a try – thanks for the tip!
Coffee AND driving at age 3…I’m beginning to question your parenting abilities :P Or commend them.
