Summer Bucket List {2014}

East coasters everywhere have been anxiously awaiting warm weather, and we are no different. This past winter was one of the most trying winters I can remember in … forever. We were slammed with snowstorm after snowstorm after snowstorm. It was so bad that I am now the proud owner of an ice chopper. Forty three years and I have survived without ever needing one. Without even knowing that such a thing existed. But this past winter? It became a necessity to open our front and back doors.

Ridiculousness to the nth degree.

And so we have not so patiently awaited the start of warm weather. Outside activities. Gloveless hands. And we have planned for just this moment.

Which means it’s time for our annual Summer Bucket List.

This year, as in previous years, I have focused on the balance of our list. Local things. Some not so local. Things that cost a few dollars. Many things that cost zero dollars.

But this year, I have focused on one more thing. Old school. Sure, we have had it pretty well represented in previous summer bucket lists. But I wanted even more of it. The lazy, hazy days that are all about enjoying the great outdoors from beginning to end, with the very simplest of activities.

And we’ve definitely got that. In spades.

Our 5th graders go to Rockinghorse Ranch for a day at the end of the year, and it’s the one field trip that they look forward to for YEARS until it’s their turn to go! I love your list because its full of so many classic fun things to do!
