Introducing Basic Invite

by Cate on November 27, 2017

Looking for a new source for holiday cards and special occasion invites? I’d like to introduce you to Basic Invite.

When it comes to parties, we almost always send an official invitation. Some years we make them ourselves, but many years I relinquish control to the professionals, because that means I can devote my time to other fun details of party decor and menu planning, if it’s a celebration, or finding the perfect postage stamp and personalized address labels, if it’s for holiday cards.

I’m all about work smarter, not harder.

A few months ago, the folks at Basic Invite reached out to introduce themselves and share their product line. They’re based in Utah, and have been in business since 2006. I requested samples of a variety of their products and they arrived quickly and were exactly what I asked for. This company is one of the few that allows you to order a printed sample of the actual invitation so you can see exactly how it will print, as well as the paper quality, before you ever have to place your actual order. Because, let’s be honest, seeing the paper stock in person, and holding it in your hands … is everything.

If you know me from here or IRL, you know I love me some ROYGBIV action (um, just scroll through…). Basic Invite has got ROYGBIV on lock. Their web site is one of the few that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you choose your design, you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so the card ends up being exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. And once you’ve got the card situation figured out, you can choose from over 40 different colors for the envelopes so your card or invitation quickly stands out from the mass of bills and junk mail that arrives on the daily. All the envelopes are peel and seal as well.

Whether you need party invitations, something to announce a kid’s birthday, or a classy invite for a grownup, they’ve got a great selection to choose from. They even do business cards!

I’m currently focusing on getting the perfect photo of my kiddos so I can cross holiday cards off my To Do list, and you can check out their offerings right here. If you’re slightly ahead of me and already have your photo done, you can take advantage of their current discount code of HOLI30 to save 30% off your holiday card order (and the code 15FF51 off everything).

Outside of the stationery realm, their Pinterest page has tons of great inspiration for planning all the other details of your party. I usually set up a separate Pinterest page for every event I plan, and half the fun is falling down that Alice in Wonderland hole of Pinterest pinning! They’re also on Instagram and Twitter, and they publish a regular blog as well. The blog posts are written by many photographers, and I love that they’re sharing their spotlight to highlight other vendors.

When I placed my order, I received communication from the company along every step of the way … from their initial receipt of my order to the order being processed to when it was shipped. They met every deadline and communicated effectively along the way.

If you have a current need, take a minute and browse through their site for some inspiration, and if you don’t need anything now, just bookmark them for the future.
