A Few Favorite Christmas Things
Hello, I’m back! ‘Tis the season no matter what religion you are or whether you celebrate Christmas or not. You can’t help but hear holiday music on the radio - I can’t believe they start playing Christmas music on the the day after Thanksgiving. Don’t get me wrong - I love Christmas and Christmas music, but not every other song on the radio; it’s not good driving music. You know?
Today I was sitting at work and a co-worker brought me back my favorite Starbucks drink (Shaken Iced Tea/black/sweet) and she also bought me a bonus treat - a Chocolate Covered Graham Cracker. OMG!!! I had to email Cate right away. Subject: My New Favorite Thing. After I sent the email, I couldn’t get that Christmas song out of my head (you know, “These are a few of my favorite things…”). I immediately thought of all of you. What are a few of your favorite things?????

I think the ONLY reason to celebrate Christmas is the wonderful birth of Jesus Christ and I absolutely love driving to Christmas carols from Thanksgiving to New Years. The rest is fluff. Jancd

Welcome back, neighbor wife! My favorite things…hmmm. Right now that would be sleep! I know that doesn’t count. Let’s see…a soda when I’m on call, strawberries, McVitie’s Digestives.

“White Christmas,” red shoes and making doctored up fudge with marshmallow fluff. Have a blessed season!

They start playing Christmas music even before Thanksgiving here. I don’t totally mind it, but some songs get old.
Anyway, my favorite things… baking holiday cookies and sneaking tastes of the dough (I know I am horrible), spending time with my family and receiving real mail.

Carlsblad Oblaten Cookies… They only carry them online or at Marshalls and TJMAxx…. They are truly amazing!!!! They taste like sugar wafers but only thinner.

I don’t really consider “My Favorite Things” a Christmas song. After all, wasn’t Sound of Music supposed to take place in the spring?

Jancd-okay good point.
Claire-sounds good.
Kelly-I’ll have to try to make fudge with marshmallow fluff. I wonder if it would work with the “5minute fudge” recipe.
Chris-Hope you have a great Holiday!
Heather-Believe it or not. I’ve bake cookies already this year. My 4 1/2 year old loves it.
Kelly-We’ll have to hunt them down.
starxlr8-I know. but, I always picture it with a little girl signing it by a Christmas Tree. I must have seen it someone a long, long time ago and it stuck with me. lol

So I happened to find myself at Target at lunchtime and popped in Starbucks to get a Peppermint Mocha Frappaccino. Found the cookies you’re talking about and succumbed. They’re good, and I definitely liked them more and more with each bite. I’m not sure they’re quite OMG status (I’m stingy that way), but between three of us, the little two-pack was gone. ;)
