Oprah is Mean
Lately, when Nicholas and I watch a show with a studio audience, he wants to know if kids are allowed to attend. He really wants to go see Rachael Ray, surprisingly enough, and I’ve told him that I don’t think kids are allowed in the audience, which, of course, unleashes a whirlwind of questions. Why not? What if I’m quiet? What if I sit in the back? What if I’m 10 years old?
The other day, while watching Oprah, he wanted to know if kids could go to her show. I said I didn’t think so. He then asked if Callie (one of our cats) could go, and I said definitely not, I’m sure no pets are allowed. Then he wanted to know if stuffed animals could go. I said probably not (although that probably wasn’t the correct answer, but I was hesitant to see what saying “yes” would have opened up!). He responded with, “Oprah’s mean! I can’t believe she doesn’t want kids to go to her show. I love Oprah!”
He seriously cracks me up.

You should send the comment with a link of your blog to Oprah. I’ll bet she’ll invite Nicholas, Cali (and Eli too) to the show. She is nice like that.

Ooooo- I like the suggestion of the SIL! How much fun would it be to get an invite from Oprah? :)

On Rachel Ray’s show on Monday, the audience was full of kids.
My 7 year old daughter always asks if she could go Rachel Ray and is quite mad when I tell her no kids allowed - “But I watch all her shows” is the answer I usually get.
My sister has lived just outside of Chicago for over 24 years and has never been to see Oprah - she says it’s in the “bad” part of town. One of the teachers in her school was in the Oprah audience twice for giveaways - the teacher one and the Christmas one - so lucky!

I would drop everything to fly to Chicago and be in that audience…I’m willing to take my chances in the hood!
