Monday … and the Plan

by Cate on May 17, 2005

I always feel better when I have a plan, because then life just seems simpler. If nothing else, you then know when you’ve gone astray. Decided on a menu for tomorrow AND my lunch for Wednesday. Was planning to go to the grocery store tonight, and wanted to pick up everything I needed for “the plan,” to make this week a little smoother. Now all I need to do is to figure out what I’m making for Supper Club on Thursday.

For tomorrow night’s dinner, we’re having company. I’m going to make Deconstructed Caesar Salad and Spaghetti Carbonara for dinner and Raspberry Parfaits and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for dessert. With two toddlers at dinner, I wanted to make sure I had a kid-friendly meal, and you can’t go wrong with spaghetti and cookies. :)

Wednesday is my turn to bring lunch into the office. I’ve decided on Artichoke Tarts, Pasta Salad with Tomatoes, Basil and Mozzarella and Chocolate Pudding Parfaits for Dessert. For anyone following WW, it’s a 7-point meal. Sounds pretty good, eh?

Trying to catch up on my Tivo’d shows today and watched a Pizza Battle that was on Food Network back in March. Interesting fact I learned, in addition to watching the Pizza Acrobats … did you know that Ohio is the biggest pizza producer in the country? Go figure. They have more pizza restaurants than any other state in the country. Never would have guessed that. In describing their pizza, they also said that it’s different in that the sauce and cheese go all the way to the edge, as opposed to other pizzas that traditionally leave room to form crust. And lastly, they use provolone cheese on their pizza nearly 100% of the time, as opposed to mozzarella. Food for thought … no pun intended. ;)

Off to watch the rest of The Bachelor finale. Tune in tomorrow for recipes on the above menus. Until then…

I never would have thought of Ohio as a BIG pizza state. The things you learn from television. Thanks for sharing this little tidbit!

I never knew that either about Ohio, but living in Ohio I guess it probably could be so, it seems there are lots of pizza places all over town and where I live isn’t a huge place, but I have many to choose from, too many it seems, so I guess the realization is right now that I think about it.

Laurie, that has to be the longest sentence I’ve ever read! :) Your jerk seasoning from the other day looks good – I printed it out to try it this weekend. :)
