For those of us, like me, who are trying to cull their cookbook collection, this may not come as particularly good news, but there are a TON of new cookbooks coming out in the next few months, most of which you can pre-order now on Amazon. I’m pretty proud of myself – I’ve only pre-ordered one so far.
First up, the one I pre-ordered for myself, the newest cookbook from Food Network celebrity chef Giada DeLaurentiis. I was surprised that it took her so long to come out with her first cookbook, this is now her third. She still has a ways to go before she catches up with Rachael Ray though, that’s for sure. Everyday Pasta will be released in April, and it looks like a winner. Some of the included recipes are Tuna, Green Bean, and Orzo Salad, Crab Salad Napoleans with Fresh Pasta, Roman-Style Fettuccini with Chicken, Baked Pastina Casserole, Tagliatelle with Short Ribs Rag, and Spaghetti with Eggplant, Butternut Squash, and Shrimp.
If you’re a Patricia Wells fan, then you’ll be happy to know her next cookbook is due out next month as well, Vegetable Harvest: Vegetables at the Center of the Plate. Adept at bringing French food to American kitchen, drool-worthy recipes include Spicy Butternut Squash Soup, Roast Leg of Lamb with Honey and Mint Crust, Pea and Mint Risotto, Potato-Chive Waffles with Smoked Salmon, Zucchini Blossoms Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Basil, Pistachio-Cherry Cake with Cherry Sorbet, Rhubarb-Berry Compote in Grenadine, and Crunchy Almond-Pear Cake.
And speaking of French food, popular food blogger Clotilde is releasing her first cookbook, due out in May, aptly titled Daily Adventures in a Parisian Kitchen. The 27-year-old takes you on a journey in the city she calls home, featuring 75 recipes that burst with healthy ingredients.
Nancy Silverton, a former dessert chef at Spago and founder of the famed La Brea Bakery in LA, releases her newest one in March, A Twist of the Wrist: Quick Flavorful Meals with Ingredients from Jars, Cans, Bags, and Boxes. The cookbook has 137 quick, yet gourmet recipes, including Cumin Shrimp and Chickpea Salad with Roasted Carrots, Creamy Corn Soup with Bacon and Cheddar Crostini, Seared Rare Tuna with Tomato-Olive Salsa and more.
Paula Deen’s newest one is part cookbook, part memoir, featuring recipes and a trip down memory lane, taking the journey through her start all the way to where she is now. It Ain’t All About the Cookin’ comes out in April. Not to be outdone, Paula’s sons, Jamie and Bobby Deen, are coming out with their first cookbook, aptly titled Deen Bros. Cookbook. I’m sorely tempted by this one.
I’m a big fan of watching the Pillsbury Bake-Off Competition, so their newest cookbook, Pillsbury: Best of the Bake-Off Desserts, is going to be hard to resist. This one comes out in March.
She’s not as famous as some of her Food Network counterparts, but if you’re a fan of Robin Miller, her new cookbook is Quick Fix Meals: 200 Simple, Delicious Recipes to Make Mealtime Easy and is expected in March.
For CIA fans, their newest one, Baking Boot Camp, just might have a spot on your bookshelf. This one is available now.
Sara Foster’s Casual Cooking: More Fresh Simple Recipes from Foster’s Market comes out in March and stays true to her style of fresh food that tastes great. Recipes include Crispy Sweet Potato Chips with Caramelized Onion Dip, Warm Crab Dip, and Rosemary Grilled Leg of Lamb with Tuscan White Beans and Roasted Tomatoes.
A picture is worth 1,000 words and that is certainly true of Cheese, Glorious Cheese: More Than 75 Tempting Recipes for Cheese Lovers Everywhere. If that cover shot of the melting, oozing, gooey cheese doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know what will. This one is available now and hearing the mention of recipes like Grilled Sirloin Burgers with Gorgonzola and Heirloom Tomatoes, Gouda Bread Pudding, Beef Tenderloin with Roquefort-Mascarpone Sauce and Spinach Risotto Mold with Pecorino Romano instantly put it on the top of my list.
And lastly, a new cookbook list would not be complete without something from Rachael Ray. They’re not available yet for pre-order, but she has two cookbooks coming out later in the year. One is aimed at kids (Breakfast, Lunchbox, Dinner), and the other has 15-minute, 30-minute and 60-minute meals. The 60-minute meals are double duty ones – cook once, have two dinners. Gotta love that!
