As you all know, we were in Disney World last week, and I have to tell you, I discovered the most comfortable shoe while I was there… CROCS. I’ve seen them before and thought they were the ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen. Well, after the first day of walking around, with blisters starting to form already, I grabbed a pair in the hotel’s gift shop and tried them on. Wow, they are so comfortable.
So, putting fashion aside, I bought a pair of black and red Mickey Mouse ones (how could you not get the Disney ones while down there, right?). I just might be hooked already; they are so comfortable and actually, dare I say, kinda cute. I even bought pair for The Girlfriend. By the end of our trip, Nicholas had his own and I convinced Cate to get pair as well. We all have matching CROCS now. Of course, we all made sure to get matching Disney Jibbitz while we were there too, just for that extra special final touch.
Anyone have CROCS out there? What is the most comfortable pair of shoes/sandals you own?
I do have CROCS….3 pair. I have one pair specificly for work (surgery), the other two pair are for here around the house. I’ve had bedroom slippers that weren’t this comfortable.
I don’t have any crocs but might have to get some as I’ll be starting my clinical rotations in June. We’ll see how they work out.
I can only wear Birkenstocks (I have to have the arch support) but my husband, eight of my children, and my daughter-in-law all wear Crocs. I gave them to my family members for Christmas last year.
Never knew what they were called but my sister, my niece and my great-niece wear them … I am going to get my first pair next time I’m where they are sold. They look ugly but everyone says how comfortable they are!!!
Crocs are huge where I live! Like you, I thought they were quite, um, not-pretty at first…now I will really have to check them out! :)
I thought Crocs were the ugliest shoes until I tried a pair on . I now have a pair of black crocs in the ‘Mary Jane style” I wasn’t ready to go for color , but maybe in the summer I will. The Mary Jane style is a bit more narrow so they don’t look too bulky. Love the Micky ones. A few princess ones in pastel colors would be cute too!
I have 3 pair. One of them is the croc thong and they are by far the most comfortable. I also have a full pair( no holes) that I wear when I’m working( I’m a chef).
OK here’s a question??? do you have to wear socks with them? Arne’t they hot? I am a Mephisto sandal wearer but it seems these things are everywhere. And knock-offs I see. I would think the real things are the better or NOT?
Real Crocs don’t require socks – they’re supposedly made of an antibacterial foam that keeps them from getting stinky when you wear them. Also, there is a difference between the knock-offs and the real deal – my teen-age daughters bought some knock-offs before I got them their real Crocs and they never wear the knock-offs anymore because the Crocs are softer and more comfortable.
I live about 5 miles from where the company is based but I still haven’t brought myself to buy a pair. I just can’t get over their looks but they are extremely popular around here. If I do buy a pair it will likely be the thong version. I really crack up when I see entire families in matching crocs walking through Boulder. My favorite pair of sandals right now are Reefs. I have two pair and this year want to get another.
