Yesterday both kids had a two hour delayed opening.
There was snow (albeit a very manageable amount).
And general all ’round slushiness.
And yesterday I said I wanted to take that darn groundhog and smush his furry little face into a snow bank.
Gently, of course.
But today! Today is the first day of Spring!
Although I’m not sure that Mother Nature has fully embraced the season calendar change, she has, however, granted us a few wishes.
A pale blue sky with thick, fluffy wisps of clouds.
A few chirping birds that we heard as we made our way to the bus stop this morning.
And the sun! For realz. The sun!
I am not a fan of the extreme weather changes. Which means that Winter and Summer are my least favorite of the seasons. Spring and Fall? J’adore. But, unfortunately, in typical Jersey fashion, we only get brief whispers of each.
But for now, I am ready to enjoy a little bit of sunshine and all the activities the new season affords us (and I’m not going to pay any mind to the snow they’re talking about for Monday).
Late night soccer games and track meets.
Gardening. This year we will plant grass!
Bicycle rides and river walks.
And 5Ks! We have signed up for three so far.
And lingering moments.
And daylight past 5 pm!
