Someone mentioned the other day how much Madeline has changed over the last few months, and since I see her every day, I definitely don’t notice it as much until I look at a picture like this. Taken nearly exactly four months ago at the park (May 2011), she definitely has a lot more baby face in it, and those bangs make a huge difference. We are still heaving in the growing-out-bangs phase, and we are almost at the tuck-behind-the-ears phase, which would be pretty awesome save for the fact that she prefers the hair to cover her face. She’s certainly a very special child. This picture was also taken just moments before she told me to smell her armpits.
When I say she has a bawdy sense of humor akin to that of a sailor, people think I’m kidding, until they hang out with us for a bit. Tonight as we headed to the restroom at a local diner, she told another guest that she was going to check her boogers. What we were going to do was talk about behavior that was unbecoming to a little lady. Nearly the same thing. Special, I tell you, very special.
