Every time we make a pitcher of something, the kids are clamoring for a taste. Sometimes it’s Mom Juice, meaning not for kids’ consumption, so I try to keep an eye on having fun pitchers of things they can have too. This past weekend, we went through one pitcher of Pina Coladas (for the grown-ups) and two pitchers of Strawberry Lemonade (for everyone). It was a new recipe I found on one of my favorite photography blogs awhile back and one that will definitely be in heavy rotation.
Minutes to make, it got a big thumbs-up all around, with The Neighbor Husband dubbing it “restaurant quality.” It’s the perfect way to savor a little bit of sunshine. Outside. Watching the kids play. Appreciating every single second. Drink up!

Tonight I participated in an Amazing Race event with my Mom’s Club. Last year, I was a little new to the club, so didn’t sign up for the annual event. This time, I was all in. We had six teams with five members each, with each member having a specific job during the night, along with detours, bonus rounds, and tons of clues to solve as the night wore on, just like the real Amazing Race, . Some included rowing from one shore to another, eating chips and salsa with a stranger at a local bar, eating two hard-boiled eggs (that would be me) at a deli downtown (with no water) while another member clucked outside with a chicken hat, finding crowns at a local eatery (Burger King), spelling out the word Cinco with our team members and much more. With photos of everything as proof. And a giant six foot tall inflatable cactus that we had to drag with us and include in every photo. Tiring, but loads of fun, and our team came in second place… even if we scared the bejesus out of a poor pregnant lady walking in her neighborhood when our car quickly braked and we all piled out and tossed a cactus in her direction for a mandatory picture. That might have been one of the highlights, right up there with one of our Team Members taking a total faceplant in the drive-thru lane of Burger King. Talk about taking one for the team. ;)
We were the red team – loved the decorations at our Team Captain’s house.
