At the Mercy of a Five Year Old

Posted by Cate under Convos with My Kid, Narrative

Last week, on a run to Target, The Husband and I headed in different directions.  He took Nicholas and made his way towards the men’s department, and Madeline and I checked out the baby stuff.  From across the store, clear as day, I hear, “Daddy, THAT’S the underwear you wear!”  Yup, ’twas Nicholas.  So now that pretty much all of Target knows what’s in our laundry basket…

And you know how husbands are … no sooner do we enter the Boys’ section do I hear him yell, “Nicholas, THAT’S the kind of underwear you wear!”

Kids, big or small, gotta love them.

I remeber when a niece was learning to talk….she had a fascination with trucks and whenever she saw one (either toy or real) she shouted ‘fruck, mama, fruck!’ Raised a more than a few eyebrows.
