I don’t know what it was about this weekend, but it seemed extra long. Maybe because we crammed a lot into two days … or we were extra-productive. Who knows? All I know is, it’s back to work tomorrow!
Went out to dinner tonight to Lone Star Steakhouse. Had a delicious Delmonico steak. Although it’s a chain, they do have some tasty treats. Of particular note is their Sweet Potato side, one of my mom’s favorites too. Loaded with butter, cinnamon and topped with brown sugar, it’s not hard to see why. Also worthy is their Iceberg Wedge Salad. How can something so simple be so yummy? Who knows. Maybe because someone else is making it!
Scored a few cookbook bargains today as well. Made a run to Tuesday Morning. It’s one of those hit-or-miss stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Sometimes you come out with a bunch of bargains, sometimes you come out empty-handed. Today’s trip netted me a Cooking Light Dessert cookbook ($3.99!!), Entrada ($6.99!!) and a cookbook by Trish Deseine, Cooking with Friends ($11.99!!). This one is most interesting though. I’ve never heard of her before. She’s from Ireland and this is her first book. Funny though, because the cover, size and photography in the cookbook, as well as the layout and recipes are eerily similar to Donna Hay. Seriously, they are identical. Anyways, the recipes looked good (Creamy Stilton and Bacon Soup anyone?), so it’s a happy new addition to my bookshelf.
OK, Grey’s Anatomy is on … gotta wrap this up. Until tomorrow.
