So I come home from work today, fully expecting to be greeted by the smells of something yummy emanating from the kitchen. Instead, The Husband and Nicholas were relaxing in the living room watching Dora. Sigh. Apparently he thought that yesterday’s dinner would have counted towards today. I know, I know, after a rose-filled path home to a nice dinner yesterday, I have no reason to complain. It’s just that the beauty of The Husband Cooks Wednesdays is that it’s a set day every week I can count on. If he doesn’t feel like cooking, take-out is A-OK, he just has to take care of arranging it. So we straightened that out and Nicholas and I ended up dining at the Costco Restaurant, since I had to stop in there anyway.
If you’ve been to Costco, you know how enormous their pizza slices are. Nicholas devoured nearly an entire slice of Pepperoni by himself, followed by half of their frozen yogurt berry sundae and a lot of lemonade for good measure. He must be in a growth spurt, because he’s been eating like crazy lately. Luckily, most of his tastes are healthy … yogurt, grapes, yogurt drinks, granola bars, so no complaints here. Of course, he does love his Mentos. He’s got the freshest breath of any kid I know.
OK folks, a short post tonight. Got home late tonight, and off to spend some time with my munchkin. Until tomorrow…
Ahhhh the Costco restaurant. One of my favorite places to eat on Sunday afternoon.
What grade is Nicholas in? I’m wondering since I’m a fourth grade teacher.
I keep reading about husbands who cook and it makes me wonder what I am doing wrong over here!?!??! I need to learn from you ladies.
I miss Costco. We shopped at the one in Monterey, California and I am constantly asking my mom to send me care packages from there. I know, how ridiculous sounding, I’m in NYC, the land of everything. But seriously, I have yet to find turkey jerky and trail mix that bests that of Costco.
Kalyn – Nicholas is only 3, so Pre-Pre-K. ;)
Mona – drop me a line. Happy to send you some turkey jerky and trail mix. I’ve never had the turkey jerky, but a former co-worker loved the stuff, so I know it’s good.
Beth – you gotta start the training early, waaay early. My Dad has never cooked a dinner, so I know he’s in good company.
Hungh. Around here it’s Husband Cooks 7 days a week. It’d be nice to get a day off or two in a week’s time.
I say he should buck up and handle about 3 or 4.
