Hey all – just a quick post tonight. The Husband is off to sunny Miami for a long weekend. Very well earned, as I’m sure you’d all agree. He’s a BIG Miami Dolphins fan and asked for an early Christmas present. He wanted to go see them play in Miami, so he’s off to catch their game. The game was actually Sunday, but because a certain Hurricane (ahem, Wilma!) is blowing into town, they rescheduled the game for tomorrow night instead. Luckily he was able to change his flight to an earlier one, and will just about make kick-off. He has family in Miami, so this will give him a rest (finally, instead of me!) and a chance to catch up with his cousins. Although I know he’s going to miss us (and especially Nicholas!), he’ll have a blast. Just wish for good weather on his trip home.
No dinner report tonight, and with Nicholas and I on our own this weekend, who knows what’s on the horizon?! I do wholeheartedly intend to do some baking and am debating about going down the shore … we’ll see. There is a local Halloween Bonfire tomorrow night, so assuming it’s not too chilly out, I think that will be fun for Nicholas.
FoodTV has just announced a new cookbook they’re releasing, an All Stars one, including recipes from all the popular FoodTV chefs. You can find it on their website here, and they’re currently offering free shipping on any order that includes this book (offer expires 10/31/05, so better hurry). I’ll be returning my Julie & Julia book (see yesterday’s post) and using that money on this one. I think that’s a better place to spend it, don’t you? ;)
I absolutely promise to upload masses of recipes this weekend in my sidebar — I know a few have been requested, and I’m a bit behind. Our DSL has been down for 11 days now, but cable modem is being installed next week and I, for one, CANNOT wait.
Lastly, The Husband is being charmed by another company for a great job, so keep your fingers crossed for him.
Until tomorrow…
P.S. Don’t forget Weekend Dog Blogging #6 is now upon us. Send me your pics of your cute pooches and I’ll post them in a round-up Sunday night. No rules, just e-mail them to me and include a link back on your site. Can’t wait to see your stuff! Also, visit Kalyn’s Kitchen for Weekend Herb Blogging and Eat Stuff for Weekend Cat Blogging. See you all there!
I already ordered my copy of FNAS today!
Thanks to you, I am often able to get better deals at Zooba, but they aren’t carrying this one.
I mean, Martha’s new book is close to thirty bucks at amazon, but just ten at Zooba!
Stephanie – isn’t Zooba the best? Might be time to post a reminder about them for some of the new readers…
