The end of another long week, and nearly the end of October. Seems like Fall has only just begun, but the time is going by so fast!
Nicholas and I had leftovers for dinner tonight, and then headed out for a Halloween Bonfire, complete with storytelling. The word “bonfire” was definitely used generously, but it was still an enjoyable way to spend the evening, listening to semi-scary Halloween stories by the lake with the warm glow of the fire. One of the latter stories was complete with a woman jumping out at the end with a monster mask on, and at that point, Nicholas decided that although this was a fun way to spend a Friday night, he had had enough. ;) All the way to the Halloween “party,” he kept asking me, “There will be no monsters there, right, Mama?” “They’re all home eating dinner, right, Mama?” Ooops. Guess one finished dinner in time for the storytelling. ;)
The Husband made it safely to Miami, even catching an earlier flight. Would have been nice if his cousin arrived at the right airport to pick him up, but other than that, it was a smooth trip. The Hurricane is supposedly supposed to hit that area Monday, so I’m trying to convince him to come back Sunday night instead. Only reason he was coming back Monday was because the Miami Dolphins game was originally Sunday night, but with the hurricane’s impending arrival, the game is tonight instead. Makes more sense for him to get out before flights start getting delayed and/or cancelled.
Loaded a few more recipes up on the sidebar, so check them out when you get a chance. More to follow this weekend.
In case you haven’t set your Tivo/VCR yet, don’t forget two new FoodTV Network shows premiere next week, Behind the Bash and Sugar Rush. I’m looking forward to both. As if I need more Tivo’d shows in my line-up…
Last, but not least, I FINALLY managed to find a copy of Rachael Ray’s new magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray. I’ll read through it this weekend and give a report – so far, it looks good. And for those diehard fans, you can now buy your very yum-o t-shirt from her brand-new web site. That should make your wardrobe complete. ;)
Ok folks, all for tonight. I know tortellini is on the menu for tomorrow night, but that’s all I’ve planned so far, so you’ll have to tune in to see what happens on our wild weekend without The Husband! ;) Until then…
I will have to look for that magazine. I am anxious to watch Sugar Rush! have a great weekend!
Holy Nerf Herder! RR’s site is insanely full of stuff. That’s HUGE.
Biggles
I just signed up for a subscription to the Rachel Ray mag! :) Yay!
I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Sugar Rush!
Did you take a look at RR’s new website? It’s really cute. :)
Michelle – took me forever to find the magazine; it actually came out a week ago. Warren Brown, the guy from Sugar Rush, is coming out with a cookbook soon too.
Dr. Biggles – you’re too funny. She actually only started the web site recently, and you’re right, there’s a ton of stuff there.
Alicat – yeah, definitely a lot of good content on there. There’s also a free weekly newsletter as well.
