TGIF!

Haven’t checked the Farmer’s Almanac, but it felt like it was a full moon kind of week. Just when you thought one day was bad, the next day surprised you by being even worse. Murphy’s Law proved itself over and over again this week, with whatever could go wrong, doing so. Luckily most of it was work related, so although I can’t completely leave it there, now that the weekend is here, there is some respite. OK, ’nuff complaining.

Nicholas and The Husband are off to Sesame Place, and Nicholas is beyond excited. He has been really good all week, including sitting patiently at the doctor’s office for two hours this afternoon with me, and I wanted to give him a special treat. I ended up getting a special treat too, because it’s Boys Only. ;) They even have dinner with Big Bird tomorrow night … can it get any better for a three-year-old?

Nicholas was in dire need of new jeans, having seriously outgrown his from last year. His ones from last Fall are now a good 3 inches above the tops of his sneakers (he’s 95th percentile for height) and since capris are not necessarily a good look for boys, I went off to get him some new clothes tonight. After that, I stopped by Qdoba for dinner, trying to break out of my when-the-boys-are-gone-I-eat-tortellini rut. Although it could be cheesier, I love their Queso, because it stays fluid and creamy for quite awhile, unlike others that get that hard film on top after sitting. Between that and their Steak Quesadilla, I’m all set to get caught up on my Tivo. Don’t bother with their Guacamole – tastes suspiciously store-bought.

I finally watched an episode of Rachael Ray’s new show, Tasty Travels. It was good, but it is really similar to her $40 a Day show. Only difference is that there’s no money cap on what she spends (though she still highlights all the bargains) and she mentions the culture a bit more. Although I like Rachael Ray just fine, I don’t think this show is really different enough to warrant a slot. But, again, if I ran the world… ;)

OK folks, all for tonight. Planning some baking over the weekend, along with The Neighbor Dinner Sunday (Cheeseburger Soup!) and, of course, Weekend Dog Blogging #3 (WDB), so don’t forget to send in your pictures. Until then…

Hi Sweetnicks, I’m looking for a companion for a cooking course. I’ve joined this site (cooking course). Where else could I contact other people who may like to join a cooking course?
    Many thanks
