… ‘cept I let him off the hook tonight, since he cooked last night. I ended up getting home from work late tonight, and you know the drill… if you don’t have a dinner plan before you walk in the door, it takes twice as long to get your act together. And, of course, I had no plan. I ended up making a mish mosh of food from the freezer, heating up Mozzarella Sticks, Ham Croquettas, Catfish Poppers and Chicken Potstickers. Truly the most uninspired meal I’ve thrown together, I know, but on top of not having a plan, I wasn’t really hungry either, so that didn’t help. But hey, you know that little light in the back of the freezer? I can SEE it now!
Tomorrow will be better. There will be a plan. In addition to New (to Me) Blogger on the Block Thursdays, I am also using Thursdays as a day to cook from a cookbook I haven’t used ever, or in awhile. I have amassed quite a collection of cookbooks over the years, and want to make sure I use them to their fullest potential. I use them a LOT for reference and inspiration, and DO use them for cooking as well, obviously, but want to start using them more. Just another New Years’ resolution … I’m full of them. ;) Join me tomorrow for my Rediscovering My Library segment. Not only WILL there be a plan, I already have it! See which cookbook gets the first nod tomorrow.
And speaking of recipes, I’ve been steadily working on loading recipes I’ve made or talked about onto my sidebars’ dropdown menu. So far, I have all the recipes up from March through June. Given I make an average of 30 new recipes a month, I have a ways to go, but in the meantime, it’s a trip down memory lane to see what dishes I was cooking up in the Spring. And one of those newly loaded recipes will make the table tomorrow night. Check it out when you get a chance.
