So I had dinner all planned, with visions of Spaghetti Carbonara dancing through my head. We haven’t had it in awhile, and it’s a great, quick weeknight meal. The Husband called to check on what time I would be home from the office, and told me he already had dinner taken care of. What a sweetie! He made his Picadillo and Black Beans and Rice. Must be something going through the neighborhood, because rumor has it that The Neighbor Husband made dinner tonight also. Whatever’s going around, this is one virus I don’t mind catching. ;) So Spaghetti Carbonara will have to wait.
And speaking of waiting, I completely forgot about my Sound Bite Saturday segment, so without further delay…
Anchovy Mashed Potatoes? Yep, Accidental Hedonist did ’em, and if you can get past the odd combination, check out the picture here, you might just print out the recipe like I did. Looks like a good one.
The Husband is a big fan of roasted potatoes, so when I saw these Pan-Fried Yujon Gold Potatoes with Paprika from Pork Cracklins, I knew I’d be adding them to my growing “to try” pile.

OK, onto my plethora of quickly browning bananas. Nicholas and I ended up making Banana Pound Cake tonight. It’s a great way to use up your bananas, and a tried-and-true for us that I made all the way back in September. Do try it.

I had several veggie recipes over the weekend, but nothing original or exciting….I plan on making crockpot cranberry chicken soon, so maybe next week.

Bannana pound cake sounds like a winner
Those potatoes were really good, and so simple! I used Spanish sweet paprika and I loved the subtle smokiness it added.
