Evening everyone! Or “Morning!” to those that join me in the am with their first caffeine jolt. The countdown for our upcoming getaway is on and we’re all beyond excited. We just have to make it through this week. ;)
Since I ended up scrapping a lot of my dinner plans from last night, this week I’m focusing on using up those groceries I bought for yesterday’s dinner and cleaning out the refrigerator. For dinner tonight, I made another recipe from Martha Stewart’s Hors D’Oeuvres Handbook, this time a B-L-Tea Sandwich. I did a complete write-up as a contribution to the Very Good Things site, so once it’s up, I’ll give you guys the link. In the meantime, the recipe was good, though not a WOW for me. And speaking of “not a WOW,” we can cross the Wacky Cake off our list too. The Neighbor brought it to her office today and it was voted as “ok, nothing special.”
OK, onto the Bleu Cheese Chips from last night. They are ridiculously simple to make and always quick to go. In an ovensafe dish, layer good potato chips (I usually use one of the kettle chips or something similar) with crumbled bleu cheese or gorgonzola. Stick it in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts. Enjoy! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
One last note before I get on with meme catch-up. Alysha over at The Savory Notebook is doing a Weekly Virtual Recipe Round-Up that you might want to participate in. This week’s theme is Soup. I would say it’s perfect for the cold weather we’re having, but in typical Jersey fashion, it was 30 degrees on Friday and 62 today. Insane. Anyways, I submitted my own recipe for Rich and Creamy Mushroom Soup. It’s a yummy one, and super simple to make.
I’ve been tagged for a bunch of memes lately, so I’m going to try and catch up on them this week. There’s been a crazy amount of memes floating around. Below is the one I received recently from Mona’s Apple. Before I get to that, just a quick reminder that tomorrow is ARF/5-A-Day Tuesday #5, so go get your fruits and veggies in.
Until then…
