The Husband Cooks Wednesdays

… when he’s home. ;) He worked late tonight, so Nicholas got the dubious distinction of being dragged to the dentist tonight with me after work. I’ve been trying to prepare him for his very first trip to the dentist, so knowing that, I bravely tried to pretend it didn’t hurt at all when I got the three novocaine shots. The dentist’s assistant was nice enough to block Nicholas view when I was wincing and I tried to distract him by helping him think of words that start with the letter M, his “letter of the week” at school. Trying doing THAT with four hands and an assortment of dentist toys in your mouth!

So that said, by the time we got home, as I was warned not to eat for an hour, and with more than half of my mouth being completely numb, it wouldn’t have been an attractive, nor even doable feat, we order Chinese take-out (aka dinner from the “chicken and rice man,” as Nicholas calls it). It was the perfect way to end the day, especially considering lunch wasn’t a part of my schedule today.

I feel like I haven’t cooked in ages, but it’s only been since Sunday. Ages for me, but it’s just been that kind of week. So with a refrigerator full of food that should be utilized in some form or fashion, including a Costco-sized package of salmon, there will definitely be cooking tomorrow night. And as it’s Thursday, it’s perfect timing since it’s the Rediscovering My Library segment.
