The Neighbor and The Neighbor Husband both took off work today to recuperate from our vacation. Can you believe that?! Geesh! No complaining here though, since it meant that The Neighbor beat me to the grocery store and was whipping up paninis on the Panini Maker we gave them for Christmas, offering us half the batch for dinner. Not having hit the grocery store since we arrived home, nor formulated a plan for dinner, it was perfect timing… her Ham and Cheddar Paninis to the rescue. Yummy and devoured in next to no time.
Was going through our vacation pictures and cleaning them up tonight so I could order our prints. The sooner they get in the photo album, the less likelihood there will be for me to procrastinate the job. The Neighbor sent me her pictures as well, and once I saw this one, I couldn’t resist posting it. How cute are they?!
Now since my dinner report was quick, I can do a towel creature review. Those of you that were reading my site back in November might remember that every night on our cruise, when we came back from dinner, our stateroom attendant would leave a towel creature on our bed for Nicholas to discover, and Nicholas loved them. The cruise last week was no exception, and he could barely contain his excitement when we opened the door each night. And even better, this stateroom attendant, Ben, left us completely different ones than we got in November. Check out the recap below. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think the elephant is definitely mine, followed by the last one, the crab. Yours?
Tomorrow is the regular ARF/5-A-Day Tuesdays round-up, so don’t forget to send in your permalink. I know exactly what I’m making … two dishes filled with both ARFs and veggies. Just need to decide on a dessert. Since The Neighbor took care of our dinner tonight, I’ll take care of theirs tomorrow… and so goes the exciting Valentine’s Day when kids are involved. On an ending note, I’ll leave you with two Nicholas-isms from yesterday. Every week in school, they concentrate on the next letter in the alphabet, focusing on it for the week. At night, I go over words that begin with the letter they’re working on, and make him use it in a sentence to make sure he understands the word and how to use it. This week, they’re on the letter “P,” which is a fun one … play, pizza, etc. I told him P is for penny. His response? “Right, P is for penny, like JC Penney, right Mama?” Not the response I had in mind, and geesh, I hardly ever go there! Nevertheless, it had us chuckling. Second Nicholas-ism… he’s in the bathroom, passing a little, uh, wind. I made a comment about what fun it was to live in a house of “boys.” His response? “Mama, farting happens.” He cracks me up… and just to tie it all back to food, remember, some of the Top 20 ARFs are beans. Go get ’em! Until tomorrow…
hahahhaha — it happens. :) what a cutie.
Wow! Those towels are pretty darn intricate!
(everytime I read your blog, I get jealous that I don’t have a neighbor like yours)
Thanks Amy, It definitely works both ways. Sweetnick’s has shared many dinners with us too. My Husband and I say daily how lucky we are to have them as neighbors and good friends. They are like family.

Mona – aren’t they cool? Hope you V-Day was a good one. :)
Catesa – they actually hold a mini class on the ship to show you how to fold them, but I always get sidetracked.
Amy – we’ve definitely gotten lucky with neighbors here; no complaints from me. ;)
