Last week, when Nicholas and I were making Peanut Butter Fudge, he gleefully licked the bowl clean and said to me, “Mama, you’re a good cooker!” I thought that was very sweet and was touched … until yesterday.
While we were doing our errands in the morning, we made a quick run through the McDonalds drive-thru, and he requested an Egg McMuffin, his new favorite item from there. After he had a few bites, he told me, “Mama, the lady at McDonalds is a good cooker!” Sigh … how to compete with an Egg McMuffin? ;) My work here has only just begun…
A gorgeous, gorgeous day today, we couldn’t NOT eat dinner outside. I made my famous hamburgers and potato salad (so far, the only two recipes I won’t give out), a big bowl of Ambrosia and hot dogs rounded out the meal. I put out all sorts of hamburger toppings, like sliced avocado, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms and cheese — delish! A nice, easy, but most of all, relaxing meal. The Neighbors came down and joined us for dinner, and the kids alternated between running around the backyard and chowing down on hot dogs.
Gotta go put the Easter baskets together, and get a few things ready for tomorrow, so I’m leaving you for now. Tune it tomorrow to see what hits our Easter table … until then…
A year ago today … Creme Brulee Cheesecake, Portobello Salad and Potato Croquettes…
Judging by the photo I’d say you are a “good cooker”!
LOL, thanks Greg! Glad you stopped by. :)
