Hey all! Another perfectly gorgeous day today. We ended up spending a large part of the day outside, working in the yard, having lunch and dinner outside, going to a county park … just an absolutely perfect day to be enjoying the sunshine. Eli got introduced to the fun of slides today. He was actually WHINING because he kept wanting to go down again! Silly dog.
When we were in the backyard playing softball this morning, we brought out a water dish for Eli, and no sooner did we walk away, do we spy Nicholas taking a big gulp. Luckily he did it before Eli got his slobber in there, but Eli was definitely confused as to why Nicholas had his face in his dish. I can’t wait to see the two of them when it REALLY gets hot! I thought I was bad…
For dinner tonight, we ended up just doing Chinese take-out. Between spending the better part of the day outside, and the time change, the day ended up getting away from me. For Treats to Work Monday, I tried a new recipe, Cherry Danish, which ended with the entire batch going in the trash. I hate when that happens – a perfectly good waste of ingredients. They can’t all be winners. Luckily I had a back-up plan, and ended up making a batch of Strawberry Bread for the office treats. One of my favorite recipes, I have to be quick because as soon as Nicholas spies the fresh strawberries, he makes a beeline for them. He sure does love his fruit! This recipe is delicious, quick and simple to make and works as well in loaf pans as it does in 8×8 or 9×9 pans (just keep an eye on it and adjust the time appropriately). If you haven’t had a chance to try this recipe yet, I hope you do.
Until tomorrow … off to watch the Next Food Network Star. On with the Weekend Dog Blogging round-up.

Lots of cute dogs! The one of Eli cracked me up! Harley freaks out when going up stairs, I can’t imagine getting him up a slide ladder! Too cute!
I like the new blog look!
I love all the dog pictures, but the one of Eli cracks me up! I know how my big dog Harley is with stairs; I can’t imagine getting him up a slide ladder! Too cute!
The new blog layout looks good!
eli and nicholas are so fun!
I have never in my life seen a dog going down a slide. What a great photo. Not a lot of dogs joined in this weekend–I guess they must be too busy romping in the spring air to pose for the cameras. : )
Stacey – didn’t even make the connection until you mentioned it. They definitely slip into each other’s roles really easily. :)
Thanks, Jen. Eli definitely has strange ideas for what’s fun, but he always joins in with both big paws first. Who knows, maybe Harley will surprise you?!
Thanks for stopping by, Bourgogne. We think they’re pretty fun too. ;)
Farmgirl – I think you’re right — they were all outside enjoying the gorgeous weather. :)
