Farmer’s Market season is almost here, and I, for one, cannot wait. There’s only two weeks until our local one starts. Want to find a farmer’s market near you to shop at? Visit this site where you can search by zip code. You can also check Local Harvest to find a CSA near you. I think I might take the plunge and sign up for my own weekly CSA delivery. What’s CSA? It’s Community-Supported Agriculture. Basically, you pay for your produce before it is grown, which helps minimize expenses for the farmers and also aids in keeping prices down. Once their crop is harvested, you get weekly deliveries during the whole season. A CSA season is usually from late Spring through early Fall. There’s over 1000 CSAs throughout the United States now.
Tune in tomorrow to see what’s cookin’ and for the Weekend Dog Blogging round-up. Until then…
A year ago today … citrus and magazines.
