Today was one of those days where it would have been better for me to stay in bed just to avoid hurting myself, as in running myself over with my own car! I stopped by The Neighbors house to drop off Nicholas’ birthday party invitation for The Girlfriend (because of my inability to remember to actually hand them the invitation when they were here THREE times this weekend!). I stop the car in front of their house and open my door and get out … and my car starts rolling away. I’ve now got a nice bruise on my hip to show for stopping the car. I think remembering to put it into park would be a heck of a lot safer!
When I picked Nicholas up from Summer Camp today, he requested ice cream. No surprise since it was a very humid 90 degrees this afternoon. He wanted a vanilla and chocolate ice cream twist and I got a Cherry Italian Ice. Of course, 20 licks into his cone, he decides mine looks more fun. And, of course, I’m driving and he can’t wait, so I reach over my seat to hand him the Italian Ice and end up dumping the whole cup on him accidentally … red slushy, sticky, messy stuff all over him, his car seat, the floor. Luckily he started laughing when I started laughing, and all was ok. Sigh…
Today is the day that I am officially the owner of Well-Fed. I’m quite excited about it, and looking forward to seeing the next chapter unfold. If you haven’t visited the site yet, please do. I know you’ll find something you like. Well-Fed is the main site, and there are 8 branches. Paper Palate is dedicated to all food-related news in magazines and newspapers, and cookbook reviews. Growers and Grocers covers everything you need to know about food production, issues from farm to table and addresses both the positive and negative aspects of food production. Fit Fare is dedicated to making healthy, wholesome and delicious food part of a well-balance and sensible lifestyle. The Spirit World is all about wine, cocktails, liquors and more. Sugar Savvy is about taking care of your sweet tooth and, lastly, A Nice Cuppa is for coffee and tea fiends. So, as you can see, there really IS something for everyone. I will also be adding more channels in the coming months, so be sure to stay tuned. Each site publishes between 1 and 5 new articles a day, so it’s like getting a new magazine every morning.
Alright folks, that’s a wrap for tonight. Until tomorrow…
A year ago today… The Farmer’s Market and delicious sweet potatoes.
congratulations! :)
Hi Cate, I just want you to know I have done that same thing with my car, so don’t feel bad. It was pretty embarrassing and potentially dangerous, but I lived to tell about just like you!
I was thinking of joining you for the ARF/5-a-day but I’m not sure how to email a permalink. What is a permalink? I may have even done it before but I am not sure of the technical lingo. Could you leave a comment on my site? Thanks, Annie
OUCH !!! Feel better, Cate!
Congratulations!
Now you need to add an outdoor cooking channel to Well Fed.
I had a day like that yesterday too – it was so bad I even checked my horoscope to see if I should have just stayed in bed.
Many congrats on your official ownership of Well Fed. I am sure it can only get better from here!
Hi Cate,
Hope you are feeling better now.
Congratulations on Well fed.
Best,
Pavani
Ouch, ouch, ouch!

Looking forward to seeing what’s all up at Well Fed.
Thanks, Ali!
Annie – embarassing? Absolutely! ;)
Thanks, Julie – just a sore hip. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. :)
Robert – Great idea; I’m on it!
Madeline – misery loves company, that’s for sure.
Pavani – thank you.
The Chocolate Lady – considering the street slopes, with the left being on a cliff ((shudder)).
Consider yourself TAGGED
P. S. hope you’re feeling good soon!!
