We’re going to go apple picking this weekend, and I found a wonderful site for all my fellow New Jersey residents. If you go here, you can search for Pick Your Own farms, Roadside Markets and more, by county, or even by fruit or vegetable – how cool is that?! There’s also a terrific Harvest Schedule, detailing what fruits and vegetables are available when. That is perfect for me, since I can never remember some of them.
For those outside of New Jersey, check your local county or parish’s website … usually they have links to local farmers there that will help steer you in the right direction.
In the meantime, happy picking!
A year ago today … Nicholas’ turn in the kitchen.
Thanks for that link! I can’t imagine going out picking this weekend with all the rain we are getting! Good luck and stay DRY!
Believe me, I’m not going anywhere if the rain doesn’t stop. ;) Definitely good napping weather.
Aww I wanna come!
Apple picking has become an annual tradition in our family! We go every year and make a whole day of it, complete with hay rides and cider sampling. My two favorite farms are Wightman’s and Alstedes. We always pick enough for eating fresh, cooking, pies and my personal favorite…making apple butter. Yum.
That’s a great link, BTW! Thanks!
