So the calendar says Spring is here, and the temperature … ooooh …. almost nearly agrees. Today it hit 50 mid-afternoon, and it was almost, almost warm enough to toss your coat by the wayside. Almost, but not quite. I, for one, cannot wait for the warmer weather to finally be here. Normally I don’t mind the cold, but being pregnant this Winter and being paranoid about falling on the ice, and then hibernating a bit with Madeline in the beginning because she’s still just a wee little thing … well, we’re ready to go OUTSIDE, you know?
Although the best Jersey red tomatoes are still a few months away, they’re getting a little less anemic lately and we decided it was time for a salad. Turning to an old favorite, we enjoyed a Chopped Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Salad. Mmmm, everything is better with bacon. Or is it bourbon? No matter … it was good, and now it’s gone.
Snarkmeister kicks us off this week with her hearty bowl of Rainbow Pasta:

Diet, Dessert and Dogs is back this week with a perfect Think Spring dip – Asparagus. I’ve made a good one from Paula Deen before, but this one looks quite a bit healthier.

A great and colorful roundup. . . spring may really be on the way (finally!). Thanks, Kate. (Oh, and why not bacon AND bourbon??) ;)
Bacon and Bourbon. Definitely no way to go wrong with that. All the recipes this week look terrific.
I was sad to not get an entry in but I’ve been doing 12 hour shifts on labor and delivery at the hospital…it’s great fun when babies are being born but can get boring when no one’s there! Yay for spring…it means veggies!
