No matter how old I am, I have always loved school supplies. Something about a freshly sharpened pencil, the smell of a new sheaf of lined looseleaf paper and the fun colored notebooks totally does me in. I loved it when I was 12, and I love it now at … cough, cough … 38 (yes, today I turned the big 3-8; thanks for all the birthday wishes!). So with my love for school supplies, you have to know that this is a very good time of year for me … it all goes on sale! I mean, really, how can you resist a 5 cent stick of glue? A pink notebook? A bendy purple ruler (that they so didn’t have when I was in school!) for a quarter? Love it. And now I can brazenly stock up under the guise that it’s for my kid. My kid, I tell you, my kid. Ok, maybe not the purple and pink stuff. That might be for me.
Oh, so Target. Getting.to.the.point. A few months back, I was happily wandering around the stationery aisle, checking out what new things they had in stock and happened upon these… hello cupcakes! Run, don’t walk, to your local Target and snap ’em up. But be warned, they are notin the Back to School section. No, no, the fun stuff is in the stationery section. A line of cupcake folders and notebooks, yours for a song. Ok, mine for a song too.
I have a friend who is expecting a girl in a few months and we were talking about how hard it is to resist the adorable girl clothing sometimes. I had just finished telling her how unless I need something for Maddie, I just don’t go into those sections of the stores … if I don’t see it, I won’t be tempted. Well that was all fine and good until, right there in front of me, not even deep in the baby girl section, but on an end cap by the registers where I could hardly miss it … a new line of brown and pink clothes that was perfect for my little one. At $3.99 for each piece, I am just not strong enough to resist. She has hardly any clothes for the 9-months size and up, and that’s exactly how a few (just a few, really!) pieces ended up in my shopping cart the other day. Although you can’t tell by the picture (because she was more intent on eating bananas and not posing), the little hearts on the cookie are glittery and sparkly and the top has cute ruffles on the sleeves. Just.too.much.cuteness. (but not that in-your-face-pink-24/7-kind that I avoid). Pint-sized Perfection.
What can I say? The title says it all. I Heart Target.
too funny! guess where I am stopping on my way to the office today? LOL
Love Maddie’s top and I love Target, too. Happy belated Birthday!
I Heart Target, too! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE back to school time – brand new school supplies are so exciting! My boys don’t quite get it yet, but they will since I adore shopping for school supplies!
It is hard to resist such cuteness for such a low price. Target is soooo good at that!
ps… Happy Birthday!!!
A belated Happy Birthday, Cate!
Ooh cupcakes!
Don’t forget the cupcake wrapping paper! And I was just in the cake decorating aisle at Michael’s, and lo and behold, there were cupcake papers with cupcakes on them. I am so thankful that I can buy all of this stuff for my 5 year old daughter’s birthday party tomorrow!
Target rocks.
I totally agrees that adorable girls clothing are irresistable!
Um, let me let you in on a secret – the whole world loves Target. I’m one of those people that was a die-hard Wal-Mart fanatic. But, I’m secretly falling more and more in love w/Target – shhh, don’t tell anybody – lol.
