This weekend whooped my butt, and I can’t put my finger on why; we didn’t do that much. Maybe too much fresh air. We went apple picking today and spent hours in the sunshine, company for dinner last night and honestly, now, Friday seems so long ago, I couldn’t tell you what we did. The house is now quiet, one kid sleeping and one is in and out, in and out, in and out. I’ll let you guess which is which. I feel drained right now, but in a good way. But the kind of way that makes skipping menu planning this week seem tempting. Very tempting indeed. But that’s probably exactly the reason I shouldn’t skip it, so here goes.
Monday: Shrimp Paella, a new recipe from Redbook magazine. The Neighbor Wife is currently looking for stovetop recipes since her oven isn’t working — this paella would be perfect. HINT HINT. Baking with Nicholas (does the microwave count?): S’mores. He’s been kind of obsessed with S’mores lately, though he’s only had them recently for the first time at a Cub Scout camp-out.
Wednesday: LeAnn Rimes’ Cabo Chicken from Good Housekeeping magazine with Potatoes ala Sofrito from Brownie Points’ site.
Thursday: Leftovers. Baking with Nicholas: George W. Bush’s Cowboy Cookies. Like last week’s recipe for Barbara Bush’s Shortbread, this is from the 2004 election and this is one recipe that both parties can get behind.
Friday: Kitchen closed.
Saturday: Tyler Florence’s General Tso’s Chicken, a tried-and-true that we haven’t had in, like, forever, coupled with Garlic Scallion Noodles from Jaden over at the Steamy Kitchen.

Your week sounds delicious! I’m a bit behind on planning, although I did select a few recipes to make this week… I’m just hoping I get them made sometime this week!
