If you’re a regular reader of Sweetnicks, you know that Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. Heck, who am I kidding? I like ’em all.
Tonight, I spent way too much time playing with rubber gloves and popcorn, making these monster hands for Nicholas‘ classmates. The kids aren’t having a traditional party, but they were allowed to have a treat brought in by the Class Mom (me! and one other mom). She’s making cupcakes and I decided to go with these … I thought it would be something fun for the kids and was looking for a non-sugar snack since their day would be so filled with it otherwise. I actually made them a few years back for Nicholas’ preschool class … and after spending the night doing these tonight again, I remembered what I declared the last time I made them … for something so simple, they sure take awhile to make! Eh, as long as the kids like ’em, my work here is done.
And then, of course, you know we had to make goodie bags for everyone. In each bag, there are tattoos, a Halloween-themed pencil, a costumed rubber-duck, a skull ring, Halloween erasers and one piece of candy. My goal was to have practical yet fun things … and I think they’re getting a nice little bag of treats.
Tomorrow … a parade at school, Trunk or Treating, then trick-or-treating in the evening. We like to go earlier so the kids can come back and hand out treats to people that come here. After doing that last year, they actually enjoyed that almost as much as getting candy themselves … and we love seeing all the creative costumes that everyone comes by in. And then … movie night (Casper!) and munchies. A full day indeed.
Now I’m off to finish up some last minute costume prep work with the kids. I’ll leave you with a few pictures we took of Maddie some weeks back … and nope, none of these made it as her final costume. For that … and Nicholas’ … tomorrow.
Happy Halloween!
LOL – I’m loving the costume!

So cute! I’m not a class mom, and my youngest is so disappointed! He wanted me to run out last night and buy goodies to give to everyone today. I negotiated doing a fun little Thanksgiving treat bag instead… at least I have time to plan for that one!
I hope you bought the bunny ears for Easter! Too cute!
