Now that Madeline is way more mobile than she was, say, a month ago, it opens up a new, huge area of trouble that she can get herself into. Her newest discovery? The water cooler.
She is now at j-u-s-t the right height to pull down the water lever. Wonderful.
‘Course she’s also taken a liking to the cat food, which is just steps away from the water cooler. Well, really, who wouldn’t love mushing their fingers through it? Oh. Not you either? So then it’s just her. Let’s just say it was an interesting evening.

oh…we’re at trouble height, huh?! Time to (as my favorite pediatrician-teacher would say) make the house ugly! Do you have a door frame where you mark heights? Y’all ought to start doing that with Madeline and Nicholas! Perfect ages. :-) We had one at my house that we took with use when we moved.

My daughter’s favorite thing (when she can get to the cat’s food and water, which we keep behind a closed locked door with a cat door in it, for reasons that will soon be apparent) is to dump the entire water bowl INTO the food bowl and then…well…ick. Let’s just leave the rest to imagination and call it a night!
