Just a quick note before the pictures … if you tried to visit Sweetnicks Thursday night or any time Friday and got a scary “Forbidden Access” message, sorry! Apparently there were just too many visitors, which is a good problem to have, but we’re doing some behind-the-scenes administrative stuff to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Speaking of which, if you happen to have your own website, on a dedicated server, and are happy with the company, would love a referral, because we’re going to be making that move this week. Thanks in advance. On with the show…
Saw It’s Complicated Saturday night. Many great laugh-out-loud moments throughout, loved it. Good for the soul. My soul. John Krasinski (from The Office) might have stolen the show which, considering it stars the luminous Meryl Streep, is quite a feat!
The good news is that this is all clean.
The bad news is that someone I need to put it all away.
When The Star-Ledger needs a freelance editor, I am available. Seriously, this is the headline:
What You Need to Know About Tonight’s Grammy’s. In Sunday
What the heck does that even mean? Hello? Proofreading?
Nick is a champ at spelling, and always goes for the bonus, extra point words to boot.
Math is one of the subjects Nick is working on raising his grade in, so when he brought this home on Friday, he raced to put it on the fridge. So proud!
The kids were away this weekend, and I was insanely productive. Little things. But lots of them. Like finding both of these pictures at the same time as finding the perfect frame. And now it’s all finally hung on the wall. The picture on the left is Nick when he was just a few weeks old. It’s one of my favorite pictures of him. The picture on the right is Madeline. When I saw her making nearing the identical pose, we frantically grabbed the camera to capture the moment. Love seeing these as I go up and down the stairs. My babies.

For those of us that don’t drink coffee (gasp!), we need another liquid of choice to get our day started. My go-to drink used to be apple juice on the rocks, until my Mom introduced me to this grape juice. Love it, love it, love it. Only place I can find it is at Stop ‘n Shop, but so worth tracking down. I top it off with a little bit of water, so good, still with a cup full of ice.

A new discovery and a good back-up. Pomegranate Blueberry Juice with half the calories and sugar. You can really taste the blueberries.

The front porch was winterized over the last few months. On either side of the front door, there was a small window. The contractors wanted to cover them up with sheetrock and I really fought to keep them. I even offered to live with smaller windows or different shapes, but the windows had to stay. This is exactly why. If it’s not the dog looking out of them, the cats and kids are. Perfect height for all of them. As you can see, I won the mini battle. They replaced the windows, even making them bigger. Big happy smiles all around.
Wow! What a great weekend you had. What a great thing to have to work on…math…and guess what helps with math…COOKING!!!! He’ll love that. Fractions galore…adding cups of flour, etc! :-)
What great pictures, looks like you had a very fun weekend.
Congrats to Nick on not only spelling but math as well! He’s going to be a star student.
I have been meaning to see It’s Complicated. I read a whole article in the NY Times magazine a few weeks ago about the director and got inspired,.
Mmmm breakfast sandwiches…
It makes me absolutely nutty to see typos (or blatant mistakes) in print. CRAZY!!!!!
It’s Complicated was precious. And, yes, “Jim” was adorable. I fell in love with Alec Baldwin all over again, too. And, besides Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep is my all time favorite. A classic.
Love the review. Congrats Nick on your test scores. Great photo to add to your wall. Looks like Micky D’s hit the weekend menu.
Looks like a great weekend! I am hoping to catch that movie soon, so I’m happy to hear its worth seeing!
I went with my hubby to see It’s Complicated a few weeks ago, it was hilarious. I loved it, just what I needed!
Looks like you had a great weekend! Happy Monday!
mmmmm….egg mcmuffin…..yum-o
