Putting a piece of bread in your brown sugar container totally works. The perfect remedy to keep your brown sugar from getting hard. Have a kitchen secret that you swear by? Would love to hear it!

i heard a marshmallow in the brown sugar and tried it, works like a charm
I’ve heard this one too but never tried it. I should though.
Hmmm good to know! My brown sugar always gets way too hard.
I live by the baking soda in the microwave/refrigerator trick to get rid of random smells.
Huh, I just thought you had to beat the devil out of it when it got that way……
Thanks for saving my Br. sug. from a beatin’
Is it sad that your pic looks tasty and I originally thought you’d be sharing a recipe?
I use bread heels to cut the amount of crumbs that get dribbled in the brown sugar. Works like a charm.
I like how you captured the brightness of the bowl/cup? I love wordless days….because a photo can say a 1000 words.
Christa – thanks for my laugh of the day!
Girl Japan – thank you!
Jan – the heels are a perfect use for that too. You definitely need to be careful when you get to the bottom.
Ramona – where there’s a will, there’s a way. ;)
Joanne – I love those ones that adhere to the inside of the fridge; they have an indicator on it that turns pink when it’s time to replace it, which is perfect for a “set it and forget it” girl like me.
Mandy – great use for the ends of the bread that nobody wants.
Trifitmom – I haven’t heard of that one, filing it away for future reference. Assuming I can wrangle a marshmallow or three away from the kids. ;)
