My first time in a kayak – ever! And coincidentally, Madeline’s too.
My mom set up little cots so the cousins could all sleep together. The first night was a little crazy, but they seemed to have settled in just fine the second night.
When we got home, Nick mentioned that he didn’t remember Sadie loving on Eli ever before. I told him I think that sometimes babies and other animals can sense when someone needs a little TLC, and Eli sure did.
A very full weekend indeed. Friday night seems like AGES ago. I ended up with some 500+ pictures from the weekend, not including the ones I deleted before even downloading. Thank you SO much for all your comments and e-mails about Eli. As you can see, he came down the shore with us, but I think this may have been his last trip there. He had a bit of a rough time there over the weekend, but since we’ve been back seems a bit more like his old self. Sunday night I was leaving urgent messages for the vet, sure I would be putting him down this week. Now I’m not so sure. In the meantime, one day at a time.
The food featured: Tomato Pie from Costco, a delicious Taylor Ham/egg/cheese bagel sandwich from a local bagel shop down the shore, a yummy healthy artichoke dip (recipe coming this week) and a dutch baby (breakfast).
Looks like a perfect weekend!
Looks like a super fun weekend! Can’t wait to get out in the kayak myself … and that sandwich – drooling.
