So this is what happens when you have kids helping you with the Summer Bucket List. I mean, they have to help, because it is a joint effort and all, but then I get two entries repeated on the list, and I forget one. Oops. The sliver of perfectionist in me is likely going to rewrite the whole thing so it’s done right, but for tonight, and in the interest of saving time since I’m late with the list, this will have to do. Some things are carried over from last year. Some are repeats of favorite summer activities. A ton of them are free. A few are not. They all mean pure summer to the O’Malley household. We have actually crossed a few off the list already – more on that in coming posts. What’s on YOUR summer bucket list?
A few extra bonus photos tonight for you (and Kris!) since I can’t go through all 600 (!!) pictures we took over the weekend. I’m going to separate them out in a few upcoming posts, but know this … perfect summer weekend. Mid-afternoon yesterday, Madeline proclaimed it was “the best day ever!” And last night, on the way home from the shore, as Nick inhaled his Sonic buffet spread out in the way back seat of my truck, he said he was “so loving today.” I love that little things add up to big things for them.
Sunsets and sonic. Fireworks and family time. Swimming and diving. Animals and animals and animals. Pure unadulterated bliss. Hope your weekend was just as awesome!
July 8, 2011 – Bonus Photo
This is when Madeline said it was the best day ever, and then demanded I take her picture. Love that.
July 10, 2011 – Bonus Photos
The kids and I took Mystic’s daughter to Sonic today. She turns 18 in just a few months and has never been. Consider that wrong righted. I love introducing people to new (fun!) things!
PS – Summer Bucket List 2010.
PPS – There might be a day this week that my site will be offline – bear with me, changing hosts. Thank you!
Need the deets on the safari! Did you take your own car through? We want to go but are nervous abt damage…
I love your photography, as always.
Madeline’s smile! Well done, mom.
Ahhh I see that you went to the safari already! I may have to do that this summer also. It wasn’t around the last time I went to Six Flags. I love that a lot of your to-dos are free. Simple things.
Great zoo pictures. 18 and no Sonic!
I love all the photos! Cookies for neighbors? Hope my name is on the
!
That was supposed to be – them!
I made a Summer Bucket List on Saturday with my kids who’ve just finished school for the summer- we’ve done a few of the things already and they love having the list up on the kitchen wall; thanks you so much for the inspiration! Love your blog and your photos!
I love this!! I might try this next year especially since it is so cute and economical. Wanted to let you know I linked to you for your summer bucket list. I made my own and added it to my summer activities list.
Thanks!!
