Did you hear? We officially have a four-year-old in the house.
Last weekend, Madeline had a party with her friends and classmates. And then a party with family and other special people in her life the next day. This past Friday, I sent her in with a cake to celebrate at school. Friday afternoon, it was cupcakes at my office. And it still wasn’t her birthday yet. That was officially on Saturday. We had breakfast together before she and Nick went to spend the weekend with their Dad, and she requested chocolate chip pancakes.
Fielding birthday phone calls.
As we sang Happy Birthday for seemingly the umpteenth time, I told her that was it. No more celebrating. Well, until Valentine’s Day. The birthday stuff? Done. During the course of the celebrations, the festivities during the week included one three layer cake, 48 cupcakes, 6 mini cupcakes, a 9×13 cake, and a short stack of pancakes. We definitely got all the mileage we could out of the $1.47 sparkly pink number four.
Taking pictures for a friend’s birthday party today.
One of Nick’s friends, a die-hard Giants fan.
Lego cake. I am no cake decorator, but was helping out a friend.
Hope you all had an awesome weekend. Will be back here tomorrow with the annual Letter to My Daughter. Until then…
well, I think there might still be SOME birthday celebration left for that girl. At least, that’s what a package sitting on my floor waiting for Saturday tells me. :P Seems like the perfect celebration and she looks so happy. As it should be.
Happy Birthday Cutie Pie!!!
What a fabulous birthday week! We begin ours for the oldest tonight… I’ve got a 10 year old in the house now, and can hardly believe it! But, celebrating for a week, seems to be the best way to make it last! Fun stuff!
