Man, what a whirlwind weekend. Madeline had a playdate on Friday night, so Nick and I took advantage of that and had some much-needed one-on-one time. After about an hour in, he looked at me and said, “I talk a lot, don’t I?” I laughed. He does. But I think he was pretty stoked that he had me all to himself. That one-on-one time is so important.
Saturday kicked off with two morning soccer games (35 degrees at 8:30 in the morning – brrr!), before we headed out of town.
I love the end-of-game handshakes, especially at the four-year-old level.
Nick’s team is sporting pink arm bands for the month of October. I love that.
A little Bible reading before bed.
I think it is way easier driving in New York City than Philadelphia. The bicycle lanes and Do Not Enter streets drive me crazy.
I love all the murals that downtown Philadelphia has, one more beautiful and more detailed than the next. This one spanned two entire sides of a bridge and was gorgeous. The picture doesn’t do it enough justice.
I can’t tell you how much I love this.
This man in Philadelphia was so sweet. He made a point of letting Madeline beat his bongos, and made sure I got my picture.
I seriously love to pump my own gas (so much quicker!), but unfortunately we’re not allowed to in New Jersey. When we stopped for gas in PA on the way home tonight, Nick asked if I would show him how to do it. And hello happy sun flare!
It was a very whirlwind type of weekend, and we could not have crammed in more than we did. Which means I have all sorts of reviews coming up for you in the coming weeks. CoCo Key! Philadelphia Zoo! The Liberty Bell! and more. But until then, this Mama needs some serious down time before our day begins tomorrow.
Hope you had an awesome weekend yourselves!
I forgot CoCo Key was down by Philly! I would have told you to go to The Pop Shop!
I can’t believe you can’t pump your own gas in NJ!
Me neither!
I’ve actually never been to Philly but you’ve made me want to go! Can’t wait for all the reviews. :)

Was that waterpark in a Philly hotel? I lived right in Philly for 10 years but it’s changed so much. I’m thrilled that they are building a new parking garage at the zoo- I love the Philly Zoo but hate the parking situation there. We might get season passes once the garage is built.
I can only remember having someone pump my gas for me once in my life, on my honeymoon. There is still full-serve where my dad lives and it seems so weird to me when we stop for gas.
FYI, you aren’t supposed to let anyone under the age of 16 pump gas in PA.

It was 12 miles outside of Philly. I’m with you on the new parking garage – the parking situation definitely needs help! Thanks for the heads up on the age limit. I was right next to him, but got it for next time!
