Kraft Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese Microwaveable Bowls Blog Tour

February 12, 2013 · Ad-Free, Narrative

macandcheeseWhen it comes to familiar childhood memories, there are quite a few stand-outs.

Little House on the Prairie.

Friendship bracelets.

The ice cream truck.

And that all-too-familiar blue box of mac and cheese from Kraft.

And, you know, a million other memories along the way and in between.

The mac and cheese. Something that just felt a little bit like home. When the biggest worry was whether the boy you liked was going to call you after school, and who was going to the roller rink on Friday night.

Oh man, that roller rink. It still brings back a rush of memories to this day.

…it’s time for couples skate…

Back in the day, the Kraft mac was simple. There was no variety of flavors. It just was.

But nowadays? There’s a plethora of choices. Like, for real.

Five actually, of these homestyle microwaveable bowls.

And it’s just like how I remembered it. Only with a little bit more “fancy” flavoring. Like Sharp Cheddar and Bacon, Southwest Tortilla, Hearty Four Cheese, White Cheddar.

Because now our palates are a little more grown-up and sophisticated and stuff, right?

And honestly, as much as I love to cook and eat clean, some days my energy is zapped and I need something with zero thought. Pretty tasty, easy, creamy, done.

If you need a chuckle, check out their facebook page – whoever writes it has a pretty cute sense of humor.

Tomorrow? The belated Weekend Photos in Review.
Thursday? Valentine’s Day goodness!
Friday? A new recipe for Baked Buffalo Chicken Bites. Yummy stuff.

I didn’t grow up eating Kraft’s so I could never really like it as an adult…it tastes too much NOT like mac and cheese. Although mac and cheese on it’s own does carry some serious nostalgia!

I am such a snob, I only eat homemade mac & cheese. It’s from growing up and every Friday was a “catch as you can” night. These nights is was Kraft mac & cheese, tree tavern pizza, might have been tuna fish on occasion. (Growing up also caused my aversion to “roasts” and leftovers)

My children, however, love kraft mac & cheese, so I will have to look for these in the grocery store next time we are there since softball season is quickly approaching and we will need to be out the door in a flash.

Well…. I ate PLENTY of the blue box stuff when I was a kid and still, to this day, love it! Probably too much. That’s why I was glad the came out with the single serve bowls. I may, or may not, have been known to eat and entire box of that stuff all on my own in one sitting!! Not good on the waistline, my friends… ;)
