Review: Hamilton Beach Personal Blender with Travel Lid

Smoothies are big in our house.

As are protein shakes.

But the thought of lugging my big blender out means that we don’t have them as often as we’d like.

So I set off to find a smaller blender, of the personal nature. I scoured the internet and read tons of reviews. I came closerthanthis to buying the Magic Bullet, because I know people that have and love it, but the price tag made me hesitate.

I hovered a lot around the Hamilton Beach personal blender, but some of the reviews were making me leary. But then the next day, when the kids and I were at a store, I spied a display of them on an end-cap.

Which I decided was kind of like kismet. Because I go from never having seen them in a store to all the sudden standing right in front of one the day after I researched them.

And here we are.

And I’m pleased to report a positive review.

It is super lightweight.

Easy to clean.

Very portable. (If I’m on my way out and want to grab and go, I just leave the lid on and I’m on my way)

Takes up next to no space on our kitchen counter.

And ultra kid-friendly.

Which might be my favorite part. Because Nick is a big fan of making smoothies. A million different kinds. And the cup is very easy to lock in place (no struggles with this one to get it “just right”), and with only one button, it’s pulse, stop, done. Perfect for him.

I frequently catch him in the kitchen after school making smoothies for him and his sister. I just make sure we always have plain vanilla yogurt (or milk) and assorted fruit (fresh or frozen) on hand, and away he goes.

If you’re looking for a small blender to enjoy your smoothies and protein shakes, check this one out. It definitely isn’t up to more heavy-duty use, but can handle what we use to make smoothies (including ice) and has fulfilled its little need perfectly.
