When it comes to breakfast cereals, my kids are a mixed bag, balancing both ends of the spectrum. They will eat the healthier cereals like Cheerios, Fiber One, Total, and more, but also love Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, and the occasional box of Apple Jacks.
Balance. It’s all about balance.
And lately, since breakfast is sometimes about cereal shoved into a sandwich bag as we head out the door, I am thankful for small favors.
And, while we’re at it, not thankful for buses that come too early in the morning.
When I was asked to review the new Greek Honey Crunch from Honey Bunches of Oats, I gave a pretty immediate yes.
Because we happen to like Honey Bunches of Oats. And I like Greek yogurt. And, well, honey? It’s a given.
So putting it all into one big bowl of breakfast goodness was totally up my alley.
And, as we found out, even the kids were on board.
With the (current) five boxes of cereal in our cupboard, they are solid testament to one important thing: we don’t always agree on the same cereal. At the same time. But this new one? Got three thumbs up.
And honestly, I’m not surprised, because it’s a fun new twist on an old favorite. If you like Honey Bunches of Oats, you’ll like this one even more. I love that it’s not one dimensional cereal. With two different types of granola throughout, it’s a nice little crunchy party with every bite. And with 33 whole grains in every bowl, you’re getting two-thirds of the whole grains you need for the entire day. So beyond it being tasty, it’s feel-good food too. Slightly sweet, a subtle tang, the familiar taste you love. Honestly, just good stuff.

PS I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the tragedy in Boston today. My heart hurts thinking about those affected by it, but as we see and hear countless stories of heroes today, I am reminded of how much good there is out there. Good wins. Love wins.

I always loved the honey bunches of oats brand…yet to meet a variation on it that I didn’t love and I’m sure this would be no exception!
