I had exactly four hours of sleep last night, so forgive the fact that the photos are out of order. It was a whirlwind weekend, covering three states, and in the name of balance, aside from one rescue event with the kids and a concert with a friend, I am doing absolutely nothing next weekend to recuperate.
When The Ex and I were first dating, I played the dutiful girlfriend and went on all the scary rides when we would go to an amusement park. Eventually we got married, and consequentially sometime after, heights started scaring the dickens out of me. So I swallowed hard this weekend and went on this ferris wheel twice with the kids (eight rotations) and Sarah and her kids, and we all lived to tell about it.
We went to a Wurst Festival in the Poconos today, and while we were there we watched a baby pig race. Which is about 20 minutes of my life I can never get back.
I do believe this picture might be my new favorite of her. It just completely sums up exactly who she is. Right now. Sigh. And a glimpse of who she’ll be at 16.
Nick saw a friend with a plate of pierogies and, on his own, asked for a taste (hates potatoes, so has never had them before). Then went and placed his own order, which he pretty much demolished. Sometimes you don’t need to pester kids to try new things. Sometimes it just happens all on its own.
They both got a pair of glasses … and chose these particular ones because they matched their balloons. Taking fashion rules to a whole new level.
Why yes, that IS my daughter rolling around in the colored powder. Most fun anyone can have. More details coming tomorrow.
One of my favorite weather apps. Yahoo Weather. Free. They use photographers’ pictures from Flickr, one more gorgeous than the next.
104 degrees, the chocolate didn’t stand a chance.
Paint by number for a dollar? Score.
The most deliciously perfect scallops. Recipe coming this week.
Such a crazy fun weekend! Minus the ferris wheel…I’m not into heights either!

Your kids are growing up fast! I often see my daughter like that, too. Makes me happy and sad.

I can’t believe we went on the ferris wheel. Twice. Love the pictures — the color run looks like crazy fun.
