One of the items on our Summer Bucket List was to visit a new farm, and we did during the last week before the kids went back to school. I first saw a newspaper ad for Brookhollow’s Barnyard a few years back, and it was in my wallet f-o-r-e-v-e-r. My only regret is that we didn’t get to visit it sooner.
If I ever live on a farm, it would totally look like this. (And living on a farm is totally a dream. I mean. Animals. Come on.)
The weather on the afternoon we visited could not have been more perfect, mid 80s with the most perfect blue skies ever. And this week, as we climb back up to the 80s, it’s a great time to visit if you’re in the area.
Animals around every corner.
Including this one with one blue eye. {I asked about it, and that’s just how he was born}
Tractor rides around the property.
Buckets full of carrots for your feeding (or snacking) pleasure.
A covered sandbox filled with colorful toys, just begging to be played with.
There was cuteness everywhere. It was just so well done. So well maintained. All the animals came right up to the kids, looking for head scratches and carrot slices.
The staff is friendly and outgoing, and answered any question we asked them.
If you happen to live in the area or reasonably close, be sure to “like” them on Facebook, because they update their feed pretty regularly, as they have new additions to the farm, family activities, summer camp sign-ups, and more. They also have a Pumpkin Patch, and a Christmas Tree Farm, and are available for birthday parties and field trips.
We’ll definitely be back.

You just can’t not love all that animal awesomeness! The blue-eyed goat is crazy! I’ve never seen one.
