I take a Halloween picture every year on the same rock in our neighborhood, and it’s one of my favorite traditions ( you can see previous years’ picture here, scroll to the bottom).
We lucked out by finding one XXXL costume to fit Herschel Walker AND it was 50% off! He was the cutest, juiciest hot dog that ever was and he desperately wanted to get on the bus with the kids this morning.
We went to a different neighborhood this year for trick-or-treating, and the homeowners all have the most adorable decorations, each one better than the next (you can see more on my snapchat). One of them even had a guillotine in her front yard, and the knife would come down, chop the head off, and it was full of candy. We have a new favorite neighborhood for sure.
She woke up at 4:15 this morning, excited for Halloween. She was also very specific about her angel costume, and we pulled it together from various sources because she didn’t want an off-the-rack costume.
Now she is busy sorting her candy and picking out her favorites. The rest will be divided between our town’s food pantry and the Halloween Buy Back program. If you’re not familiar with it, you can type in your zip code here and find a participating dentist near you. They will buy your candy back for $1/pound and then send it to the troops overseas. We’ve been doing it for years, and it’s a great way to get the excess out of our home, and do some good.
Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!
