An easy and inexpensive way to have the softest hair imaginable? Yep. And coconut oil is the answer.
If you’re a long-time reader, you know I will go to great lengths to have awesomely soft hair.
To wit, I’ve done an avocado hair mask.
Verdict: Exceptionally messy, but worth it.
And a banana treatment.
Verdict: Also exceptionally messy, but worth it.
And even the great mayonnaise experiment.
Verdict: Exceptionally messy *and* gross, but worth it. I mean, a boy even noticed the difference, without even a touch test first.
So this time? Coconut oil.
Coconut oil is all the rage these days. For a variety of uses. And considering I have a giant 54 oz vat of it from Costco, well, this pleases me to no end.
So far, I have just been using it for softer skin, which has been particularly important after this rather punishing Winter we’ve had in the Northeast.
I would love to start “oil pulling,” but I’m currently working myself up for that one. Because the feedback is that while it is wonderful, it’s also gross. A friend gagged after her first attempt, and I know it’s definitely mind over matter, so I fully intend to conquer that one.
But coconut oil as a conditioning treatment?
I’m totally down with that.
