A very full day is coming to close, amen to that. Today was Nicholas‘ last day of Kindergarten and he ended it with flying colors, bringing home a very excellent report card. He has changed so much over the past year, and not only has it been exciting to watch, I am bursting with pride for him. Today was also my stepdaughter’s 8th grade graduation. I can’t believe she’ll be entering high school in the fall … gosh, it seems like only yesterday that I was graduating 8th grade myself. Of course, that yesterday was, cough, cough, nearly 24 years ago. Ouch.
So I didn’t get a chance to make anything for dinner tonight, but luckily other food bloggers stepped up to the plate for tonight’s ARF/5-A-Day roundup. Here goes…
Up first is Claire from Cooking Is Medicine. This week she gets creative with Whole Wheat Blueberry Scones:
Sara from Cupcake Muffin is thinking scones this week too, with her Sweet Potato Blue Cheese version:
Renae du Jour is back this week, this time sharing her Bell Pepper Salsa, a twist on an old favorite:
Patsy from Family, Friends and Food discovers a new family favorite with her Orzo with Toasted Corn and Scallions:
Table for Two is serving up Summer Parfaits. Although it sounds unusual, I know the balsamic vinegar and strawberry combination is a good one. Love it myself.
Newcomer Pam from Sidewalk Shoes joins us this week with her Quinoa Salad with Apples and Cranberries, simply stuffed with ARF/5-A-Day goodness:
And finishing us off this week with another quinoa recipe, Sarah from What Smells So Good shares her Whole Wheat, Quinoa and Tomato Buns:
And that, folks, is a wrap for tonight. Want to join us next Tuesday? It’s easy, and you can find out how right here.
Tomorrow? A very belated Supper Club recap from our May gathering. Until then..
Aww, such a proud Mommy! and 24 years isn’t bad. What is bad is when you have to stop and ask what year it is now before you can figure out how long it has been!
p.s. I’ve tagged you!
