Is it possible for hummus to change your life?
Quite possibly.
Or at the very least … for it to change the way you think about hummus.
And such was the case with this delicious delivery I received a few months back.
Amazeballs.
I am partial to homemade hummus, so the fact that there were completely differently flavors available, instead of spins on an old favorite, was a step in the right direction.
The folks at Eat Well, Embrace Life kindly sent me a box for taste tasting, which I promptly brought to the office to get extra opinions on. And share, of course.

I’m going to start with my favorites.
Edamame Hummus with Roasted Red Peppers. I love edamame, so I knew I would love this from the start. It is smooth, creamy, and has such a light taste that I couldn’t help go back for more, again and again. And it was the office favorite as well, and the first one demolished.
Spicy Yellow Lentil Hummus. This one was slightly sweet with a subtle kick towards the end. It is topped with crunchy little bits of sunflower seeds and chewy pieces of apricot. Simply awesome.
Zesty Sriracha Carrot Hummus. When I put the assorted hummus out for everyone to try, I had removed the lids and I might have forgotten that this one had sriracha in it. Oops. It definitely packs a serious kick, so be sure to have water nearby. With some sweetness coming from the carrots, it’s addicting in the very best possible way.
Sweet and Spicy Black Bean Hummus. This version tastes exactly as you think it should – full of black bean goodness. Despite the name, I didn’t find this one spicy at all, and it actually reminded me of a favorite black bean dip I make.
Beet Hummus. I have mixed opinions about beets in the base case. Sometimes I love them, sometimes not so much. In the case of this beet hummus, I found it a little overly sweet and it wasn’t my favorite.
There are a few versions left that I haven’t tried yet, and they’re on my list for my next grocery shopping trip. If the ones we tried so far are any indication, I think we’re in for more good stuff ahead. This is my favorite brand of hummus! I buy the Sweet and Spicy Black Bean ALL the time, and I’ve purchased their edamame hummus quite a few times as well. The store I buy mine at doesn’t carry the Sriracha Carrot, which is too bad because it sounds incredible.

Hummus is the Arabic word for Chick Peas. The Hummus dish is called by this name because it’s made of Chick Peas (Hummus).
Therefore, you cannot call any type of dip Hummus. Whatever these pastes taste like, they are not Hummus.
Too bad the food industry is confusing the public by using the name incorrectly….
